Every time I visit my own channel on Twitch, it prompts me to think about creating a short intro video.
I looked around at a few other people’s channels and couldn’t really find many music streamers who bother to put this in place. But I can see the logic, and who knows, it might just help to nudge someone to click the Follow button.
The good thing about the intro video is that it auto-plays when the page loads, so you’re not relying on people clicking your past videos or clips.
You only get 60 seconds for one of these videos, so that isn’t long at all! My approach was to give a quick hello and welcome and then dive straight into some clips from recent streams, which in my case I had saved from the versions I had previously shared to TikTok – which is another ongoing experiment, I should probably write a post about.
I recorded my intro/outro in OBS and then loaded all the clips into my video editing software (Adobe Premiere Elements this time).
I’m anticipating that this will be the first of many channel trailers, if I stick with it.
How to measure if the channel trailer video is a success or not?
This is a tricky one, but I’m hoping that it will help nudge more people to follow, particularly between streams.
As always, please give me a follow if you haven’t already!
