If you’ve never used Twitch before…

I know that it’s often hard to persuade people to try out a new platform they’ve never used before. Most Twitch streamers will echo that it’s rather difficult to get people to come over from facebook or instagram, to Twitch. We all tend to stick with what we know, and where we feel comfortable.

But what if Twitch is your next favourite thing, that you just haven’t discovered yet?

Reasons to give Twitch a chance…

• It’s very interactive.
  Everyone who is watching the stream can type messages in a chat window, and the streamer will respond to comments.
• You can request songs.
  Most music streamers have a list of songs they perform, and viewers can request their favourites to be played.
  Visit my song list.
• The sound quality is great.
  Some platforms overly compress audio and make it lifeless to listen to. Twitch audio can be very good quality (as long as the streamer knows how to feed it a good quality signal).
• It’s a lot of fun!
  Streamers create their own emotes for you to use in the chat, and these often appear on screen. Most streamers will also have various ways to redeem the “channel points” that you naturally accumulate when watching a streamer. You can “spend” these channel points to make the streamer take certain actions, or to change somethign about the environment.
  In my stream, for example, I use various videos on my green screen background. There are a number of backgrounds that viewers can trigger automatically by redeeming channel points. Pretty cool!
